Our Philosophy

Training & Leadership Coaching Ltd (TLC to our friends!) was founded in 2003 by our two Directors – Angie Norden and Rachael Kirkham. Our vision: ‘coaching & empowering the next generation of inspirational leaders’ sums up how we feel about personal and professional development: it’s about helping everyone we work with to find positive reasons to improve their performance and then enabling them by developing their skills, behaviour and self confidence.

Recent CIPD studies showed that between 70% and 90% of development activities make no discernable difference upon organisational performance. We believe that we know why this is true; conventional ‘training’ attempts to change trainees’ behaviours without addressing their motivation. We work with all of our participants to help them to find the motivation for change as well as introducing the people development activities that will give them the competence and confidence to increase their performance at work.

Within the TLC portfolio are two additional businesses: a South African leadership development consultancy which provides TLC’s services to businesses in the South African economy and Learning Goodies, an accelerated learning provider which supplies accelerated learning resources and upskills development professional to incorporate leading edge techniques into their development activities.

Our values are an integral part of the way we work. Whenever we take a business decision, it is checked against the TLC values to ensure that our approach is consistent.
